We can’t wait for you to join us at St Peter’s
St. Peter’s Bishopsworth is a Church of England or Anglican Church. We serve the local area of Bishopsworth, Highridge and Headley Park. Our Church reflects our belief that we value both the ‘old’ and the ‘new’.
This can be seen in our building which is both a traditional Somerset village Victorian one and, on the inside, a modern re-ordered one with comfortable chairs, audio-visual system and cafe area with a proper Italian coffee machine!
It is also reflected in our monthly pattern of Sunday Services which includes a more traditional Holy Communion and a modern Cafe Church style one with the Church re-arranged around coffee tables. During the coronavirus pandemic our services were online and we are continuing to livestream our services from Church so that people can access them from our website and Facebook page.
More importantly than all of this though, it can be seen in who we are as people – young, old and in-between; those who have been part of St. Peter’s for many years and those who have started coming recently – all part of the same Church family.
Ultimately this sense of ‘old and new’ also reflects our Christian faith. It is rooted in the life, death and resurrection for us of God`s Son, Jesus, 2000 years ago as recorded in the Bible. We now live out the truth of what happened then in a way that is relevant for our world today. At St. Peter’s we have found that this is an exciting way to live life together as God’s family.
If you would like to pop in and discover more about us for yourself then do please give us a try (the coffee is great as it is recommended by the Patron Saint of coffee, St. Arbucks!)
