We can’t wait for you to join us at St Peter’s

IMG_3961 EditedWe’re a friendly church that feels like home, with something for everybody each week. We’ve often been described as a church with a family feel; but that doesn’t mean you have to be a family to fit in! We have members of all ages and backgrounds from in and around Bishopsworth, Highridge and Headley Park, and our long history and vibrant today means that when you come we think you’ll find a wonderful mix of tradition and modern.

We are an active community church, with plenty on in the calendar whether you’ve got a young family, a teenager or a bus pass!

We are a church that feels like family

St Peters Tim
Rev Tim Godden

I have been the Vicar of St Peter’s Bishopsworth since 2001. I am married to Carol and we have two grown up children. St Peter’s is a Church of England (Anglican) church serving Bishopsworth, Highridge and Headley Park. Whatever your interest in or point of contact with us, may I wish you a warm welcome to St Peter’s.

Mick Sital-Singh

Church Warden

We came to St Peter’s in 2012, having moved from London, and we have been overwhelmed with the welcome we received. As we have become more engaged with the congregation since then, we have found a “home” where people can be real about their faith, honest about their struggles to work out their faith in daily life, and have a concern for the community.

Some years ago I came across the phrase, “bringing truth to life” and that is what I am motivated to do both for myself and for those at St Peter’s in my role as Joint Church Warden.

St Peters Shane
Shane Coles

Church Warden

I have been at St Peters for 25 years and have had various roles within that time. I see myself as an encourager for people in their faith journey. In practical ways I help make the church welcoming, well presented, accommodating for all ;young and old in age or faith. I assist and support our many outreach ministries and our church activities.

My focus is on relationships; that everyone feels a part of St Peters and is a part of St Peters. Together we can improve our relationship with Jesus.

St Peters Jen
Jenny Neale

Lay Minister

I have been a Lay Minister at St. Peter’s for nine years and during that time I have sought to deepen my own personal faith in God, expressing that faith through worship and service. I long to see St Peter’s growing in the love of Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit, at the heart of our community and reaching out to every person of every age from all walks of life.

I am a retired library assistant in my 60’s, married to Geoff with two grown and married children and two grandsons. I enjoy dog-walking and going out for trips in our camper van. I have a keen interest in history and love visiting historical places.

Lesley Hooper

Lay Minister

I have been a Lay Minister at St. Peter’s for 15 years. When I became a Christian in 1978 I began a journey of faith, and a relationship with Christ which continues to this day. I feel my calling is to encourage and support others on the same spiritual journey. I want everyone to experience the love and power of God in the pleasures and trials of everyday life. Before I retired I was a nurse in a doctor’s surgery. I am married to John and we have two children and three grand children. I really  enjoy gardening, reading, days out, and time with my family.
